Note: Candidates must reside in Southern California. This position is 32 to 40 hours per week. 32-hour positions are eligible for benefits.

Role Overview and Purpose

The Medical Scribe will increase the efficiency, productivity, and accuracy of medical charts for providers. This role will annotate all dictated or written information for the treatment of patients and will accompany providers either in person or virtually when treating patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with documentation of each patient’s medical chart during their visit.
  • Transcribe history and physical examinations as given by the patient and provider.
  • Document all procedures performed by the provider or nurses in patient medical charts.
  • Use various EHR tools to compile data for statistical reports for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Transcribe consultations and discussions with family members and/or providers.
  • Transcribe results for labs, x-rays, and other evaluations in patient medical charts.
  • Follow up on the progress of pending results to finalize patient workups for the provider.
  • Document proper diagnoses, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as dictated by the clinician.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • One year of outpatient clinic experience preferred.
  • Coursework in Medical Terminology, Anatomy, and Physiology preferred.

Compensation

  • Pay range: $20.56 to $23.98 per hour, depending on experience (DOA).
