Position Overview:
As a VDC Piping Specialist at InServ, you will collaborate with a team to develop coordinated Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) models for hydronic, hygienic, and plumbing piping systems. Using Revit software and relevant add-ins, you will create and manage detailed piping models to support our projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design and model piping systems based on existing Revit models or P&IDs.
  • Develop coordinated Building Information Modeling (BIM) models in collaboration with the project team.
  • Produce project deliverables including spool drawings, isometrics, and plan/elevation drawings.
  • Support the VDC team in creating project templates within Revit.
  • Attend coordination meetings via Microsoft Teams or similar applications.
  • Maintain and organize project cloud hubs for easy access.
  • Communicate updates and project goals with Project Managers, field teams, and shop teams.

Experience Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in modeling with Revit or similar 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or equivalent cloud storage systems.
  • Experience in life sciences and knowledge of pharmaceutical processes is preferred.
  • Understanding of industrial process systems, components, and functions is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hydronic and plumbing piping systems is preferred.
  • Experience with Autobid mechanical estimating software or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Projects, and Outlook.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with modern technology relevant to our work.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly required to walk, climb stairs, sit, squat, and stand.
  • Must be able to speak clearly, hear at normal levels, and see with various visual capabilities.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers for operating equipment.
  • Capable of navigating hazards commonly associated with industrial construction sites.

General Requirements:

  • Remote position requiring a home office setup with desk space for monitors and computers.
  • Clean driving record, resident state driver’s license, clean criminal background check, and ability to pass drug and alcohol tests.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional relationships and manage various personalities.
  • Action-oriented, self-starter with a drive to see projects through to successful completion.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, and improve VDC processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
