Job Description: UR Intake Specialist

Position Overview:

The UR Intake Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the Utilization Review / Case Management department at CorVel. This remote position involves handling administrative tasks such as typing reports, managing files, and processing forms, as well as answering incoming calls and ensuring accurate data entry and documentation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Precertification Requests: Handle calls related to precertification requests and ensure all patient, provider, and facility information is accurately entered into the system.
  • Data Entry: Input service requests into the CareMC program and document utilization review requests within the CareMC system.
  • Attendance: Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
  • Compliance: Adhere to safety rules and regulations as outlined in the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP).
  • Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Multi-tasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deadline Management: Capability to meet designated deadlines consistently.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office, including Excel spreadsheets.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Stress Management: Ability to remain composed and communicate diplomatically under pressure.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education & Experience:

  • Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation:

CorVel employs a market-based approach to determine pay rates, which may vary depending on location and other factors. The pay range for this position is $15.98 - $25.69 per hour. Factors such as federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, geographic location, job-related skills, experience, and internal equity are considered. Pay adjustments may be made based on experience and qualifications during the hiring process.
