About the Role:

As a Clinical Trial Vendor Manager at Novartis, you will play a pivotal role in managing all vendor-related aspects of global clinical trials. You will ensure the successful delivery of study outcomes by adhering to schedules, budgets, quality standards, and performance metrics. Your role involves proactive risk management and issue resolution, as well as implementing global vendor strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vendor Management: Oversee and manage all vendor-related activities, including vendor oversight, governance, and performance monitoring. Identify and resolve vendor issues to ensure study deliverables are met.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the study team lead and other team members throughout the study lifecycle. Maintain effective communication with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Protocol and Specification: Review vendor-related sections of the study protocol during development. Collaborate with the Vendor Startup Manager to create and finalize the Study Specification Worksheet (SSW) for the bid process.
  • Contract and Budget Management: Review vendor quotes and proposals, support contract negotiations, and contribute to contract amendments. Manage vendor costs, budget reviews, invoice reconciliations, and PO close-outs.
  • Risk Management: Develop and maintain vendor-related risk maps, including contingency plans for documentation. Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all vendor activities comply with Novartis policies, guidelines, and external regulations. Maintain high standards of quality in all trial-related activities.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Timely and efficient execution of trials and related activities within budget and according to quality standards.
  • Adherence to Novartis policies, guidelines, and external regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: Extensive knowledge of clinical operation processes and vendor management. Experience in financial management, critical negotiations, and operations management.
