Compensation Overview

The salary range for this position reflects a national market and varies based on factors like role complexity, location, and candidate qualifications. In addition to a competitive base salary, employees may also qualify for performance-based cash incentives.

What Is the Opportunity?

This entry-level position involves completing a formal training program to advance to a Claim Representative – Auto First Party Medical role. You will develop skills in investigating, evaluating, negotiating, and resolving First Party Medical claims for less complex cases. Quality claim handling is essential throughout the entire claim life cycle, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and state regulations. An online pre-employment assessment is part of the hiring process, with accommodation options available if needed.

What Will You Do?

  • Complete a comprehensive training program, including online, virtual, classroom, and on-the-job training. Travel may be required.

  • Engage in ongoing training for the inside auto business.

  • Collaborate with your Unit Manager or mentor to resolve assigned claims promptly.

  • Deliver consistent service quality throughout the claim life cycle, including customer communication, coverage explanation, and follow-through.

  • Analyze coverage and apply policy conditions, verifying eligibility and limits.

  • Investigate claims to gather necessary facts regarding coverage, causation, damages, and medical necessity.

  • Establish and maintain appropriate claim reserves, managing file inventory effectively.

  • Negotiate settlements within authority limits and manage medical treatment and expenses related to claims.

  • Acquire and maintain necessary insurance licenses as required by state and Travelers regulations, typically within three months of starting the role.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • A Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or a minimum of 2 years of customer service experience.

  • A customer-centric attitude and ownership of tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in keyboard skills and Windows applications, including Excel and Word (intermediate level).

  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic analytical thinking and decision-making skills.

What is a Must Have?

  • High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree.
