Job Title: Travel Pharmacist

Job Overview:
Continuum Medical Staffing is seeking a travel pharmacist for a 13-week assignment in Wrangell, Alaska, starting on October 28, 2024. This position involves a 40-hour work week with 8-hour day shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review prescriptions for therapy appropriateness, legality, completeness, contraindications, interactions, allergies, adverse reactions, and lab value abnormalities.
  • Provide clinical consultations and resolve any concerns with prescribers prior to dispensing medications.
  • Accurately document all clinical activities and interventions.
  • Enter prescriptions into pharmacy software and verify finished prescription orders promptly.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while organizing and prioritizing work assignments.
  • Ensure timely provision of pharmacy services and communicate effectively with patients regarding their medications, including indications, usage, and expected outcomes.
  • Conduct chart reviews for prescription refills and medication therapy management, making recommendations to providers and requesting refills as needed.
  • Provide drug information and staff education on drug therapy.
  • Direct pharmacy support personnel and verify the daily activities of pharmacy technicians.
  • Participate in clinical and administrative activities, including quality control and improvement initiatives.
  • Attend meetings and serve on committees as required.
  • Ensure the availability and control of medications and select appropriate drugs for the formulary.
  • Participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities related to drug use.

Qualifications:

  • Must have hospital pharmacy experience.
