Position: Travel Pharmacist
Location: California
Schedule: 8-hour night shifts, Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Duration: Travel assignment (typically 13 weeks)
Experience Required: 2+ years of experience as a pharmacist
Licensing: Must have a valid California Pharmacist license

Job Description

A hospital in California is seeking an experienced pharmacist for a travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of pharmacy experience, with a preference for those with additional qualifications such as a pharmacy residency or BCPS. Experience in oncology infusion centers and sterile compounding is highly desirable. The candidate will provide essential pharmacy services in a hospital setting, ensuring patient safety and optimal medication therapy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medications using Cerner and Omnicell for dispensing cabinets
  • Sterile compounding and preparation of IV medications
  • Coordinate with the IV team for appropriate drug therapy
  • Work with a 2:1 technician to pharmacist ratio (as per California law)
  • Provide consultations to multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient care
  • Participate in holiday and weekend coverage as required

  • Orientation: Floor-specific orientation provided

Additional Requirements

  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS
  • Desired Qualifications: Pharmacy residency and/or BCPS preferred, oncology infusion center experience is a plus
  • No new graduates
