Position Summary:
The Trauma Registry Manager is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the computerized trauma registry used for injury research, epidemiology, and quality improvement activities. This role ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of trauma data reporting and supports various quality assurance initiatives.

Position Duties:

  • Data Management: Collect and coordinate initial trauma data, perform data entry, and develop reports and outcome measures in line with American College of Surgeons (ACS) standards.
  • Follow-Up Data Collection: Gather follow-up data on all registry patients, enter information into the registry, and conduct data retrieval and statistical analysis of registry data on a priority basis.
  • System Oversight: Serve as the system manager for the computerized trauma registry, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of trauma data. Monitor data and reports for quality assurance and participate in quality committees.
  • Case Identification and Entry: Identify eligible trauma cases, including abstract cases, and enter patient data into the TraumaOne computerized registry.
  • Data Interpretation: Analyze medical data to evaluate patient responses to treatment, identify complications, and understand data analysis techniques such as injury severity scores and survival analysis within the automated registry environment.
  • Communication: Maintain contact with internal and external departments and organizations regarding patient and registry information, as well as address any related software issues for approved research and educational purposes.
  • Additional Duties: Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
