Job Title: Team Leader - Medical Coding

Location: Bangalore, India (Onsite)

Role Overview:

As a Team Leader - Medical Coding, you will oversee the day-to-day production and quality functions of a team of medical coders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role involves team leadership, workflow coordination, training, and quality assurance, while collaborating with managers and training teams to meet client goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Performance: Track coding volume, accuracy, and deadlines to maintain a 95% quality accuracy rate.
  • Escalate Issues: Report production and QA concerns to management as needed.
  • Review Reports: Analyze production and accuracy reports to provide constructive feedback.
  • Motivate & Train Team: Conduct monthly team meetings, provide coaching, and perform annual evaluations.
  • Monitor Attendance: Maintain and review team records and timesheets.
  • Handle Special Projects: Assist in audits and other coding-related projects.
  • Mentor Staff: Maximize team performance and job satisfaction.
  • Improve Processes: Work on initiatives to reduce revenue leakage while ensuring compliance.
  • Stay Updated: Participate in team meetings and educational conferences to enhance coding expertise.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of HCC risk adjustment coding processes and quality assurance.
  • Analytical ability to identify patterns and trends in coding performance.
  • Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring coding teams.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical coding guidelines, hospital reimbursement systems, and payer regulations.
  • Commitment to professional and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Zoology, or Microbiology.
  • 6+ years of industry experience, with at least 1 year leading a team of coders.
  • Certification in CPC (Certified Coding Professional) or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
