Job Title: Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Research Manager

Position Overview:

Join our dynamic team as a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) Research Manager, where you will independently oversee key aspects of research projects, while also managing multiple projects at varying levels of complexity. In this role, you will receive guidance from senior staff and have the opportunity to lead important SLR research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Planning: Define and refine research questions related to SLR objectives and design literature searches/algorithms to be implemented in scientific databases such as PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library.
  • Screening & Data Validation: Develop inclusion/exclusion criteria using the PICOS framework, and oversee the screening of abstracts and full-text articles to assess suitability for inclusion.
  • Data Management: Validate data abstraction, extract final analyzable datasets, and synthesize the evidence base by drafting reports, protocols, and statistical analysis plans.
  • Project Management: Develop project plans, monitor progress, and ensure timely delivery within budget. Draft project proposals, including scoping the evidence and preparing budgets.
  • Client Communication: Lead client communications (via email, phone, or in-person) for day-to-day updates, and co-lead the delivery of project-related documents.
  • Team Leadership: Delegate tasks to junior staff, review their work, and support staff recruitment and training efforts. May also serve as a line manager.
  • Collaboration: Participate in non-literature-based research activities in collaboration with other departments, such as modeling and simulation or real-world evidence.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Education: PhD in health sciences, economics, biology, or a related field, or an MSc with significant related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience in systematic literature review methods, particularly in health economics or health services research. Experience in network meta-analysis is a plus but not required.

  • Research Expertise: Deep understanding of research principles and practical implementation, with the ability to access and use various software tools.
  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse groups, both verbally and in writing.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated ability to work independently, plan work schedules, and multitask under stress while meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading teams and mentoring junior staff in a fast-paced environment.
