The Opportunity

We are seeking a Statistical Analyst to join the Clinical Research team for Abbott Medical Devices. In this role, you will provide statistical expertise for clinical studies within the Cardiovascular Division (CVD). The position involves statistical programming, data analysis, report generation, and ensuring data quality for regulatory submissions.

Reporting To: Biostatistics Supervisor/Manager.


Key Responsibilities

Statistical Support & Analysis

  • Assist in preparing statistical sections of study protocols and writing statistical analysis plans.
  • Perform sample size/power calculations and create randomization and study tools.
  • Use SAS programming to create reports, validate data, and resolve statistical issues.
  • Generate and validate patient data listings, summary tables, and reports for regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with study teams to ensure error-free data for analysis.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Validate SAS datasets and ensure they meet study requirements.
  • Prepare datasets for statistical analysis and generate reports for regulatory and research purposes.
  • Provide statistical expertise for publications and presentations related to clinical studies.
  • Compile clinical data and provide analysis support to other departments as needed.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work with the Biostatistics Supervisor/Manager and clinical teams to meet study timelines and milestones.
  • Support external departments and teams with statistical analysis, interpretation, and report creation.

Required Qualifications

  • Education:
    • M.S. in statistics, biostatistics, or related field with 2+ years of experience in SAS programming and statistical analysis.
    • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with 2-5+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience in SAS programming is required.
    • Knowledge of database software for clinical data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (Master’s, PhD).
  • 2-5+ years of experience in medical device or pharmaceutical clinical research.
  • Strong expertise in SAS and statistical analysis in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in both team and independent settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
