Stat Programmer Scientist – India

Job Overview:
At a team, site, or staff level, provide advanced technical expertise to develop process methodologies for the department to meet internal and external clients’ needs. Plan and coordinate the development of integrated programming solutions across the full spectrum of statistical programming tasks. Provide technical expertise, leadership, and internal consulting services, including specifications and user needs analysis for complex project or client requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform, plan, coordinate, and implement the following for complex studies:

    • Programming, testing, and documentation of statistical programs for tables, figures, and listings.

    • Programming of analysis datasets (derived datasets) and transfer files for internal and external clients.

    • Programming of quality control checks for source data and periodic reporting of data issues.

  • Interpret project-level requirements and develop programming specifications for complex studies.

  • Provide advanced technical expertise and independently propose solutions to Statistical Programming teams and the department.

  • Fulfill responsibilities as the technical team lead for single complex studies or groups of studies.

  • Communicate directly with internal and client statisticians and clinical team members to ensure clear understanding of requirements and timelines.

  • Estimate programming scope of work, manage resources, communicate project status, and negotiate/re-negotiate timelines for deliverables.

  • Promote and ensure the use of established standards, SOPs, and best practices.

  • Provide training and mentoring to Statistical Programming team members and department staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with 10 years of relevant experience, or

  • Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field with 9 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

  • Typically requires 7+ years of prior relevant experience.

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics, programming, and/or the clinical drug development process.

  • Advanced knowledge of computing applications such as Base SAS, SAS Graph, and SAS Macro Language.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Strong aptitude for mathematical calculations and problem solving.

  • Advanced knowledge of relevant Data Standards (e.g., CDISC/ADaM/SDTM).

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
