Job Overview:
The Sr. Specimen Management Associate is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and shipment of clinical specimens. This role includes equipment maintenance and guiding entry-level staff on routine procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accession, ship, and store samples, ensuring they are accurately identified, sorted, and labeled for testing or storage.
  • Oversee freezer and inventory maintenance to ensure proper storage.
  • Monitor and manage scheduled and ad hoc requests, ensuring timely completion.
  • Guide and mentor entry-level staff, and assist in their onboarding process.
  • Identify risks that could impact client deliverables and take corrective actions.
  • Respond to after-hour alarms and address critical job functions.
  • Assist in reviewing and developing specimen management procedures and techniques.
  • Support the implementation of procedural changes as assigned.
  • Notify inventory staff of supply shortages and assist in inventory management.
  • Perform other duties as required, potentially handling receipt of compounds and control materials.
  • Represent Specimen Management team in cross-functional projects.
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain safety, quality, and 6S standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of systems and procedures in the assigned functional area, gained through previous experience or education.
  • Experience in training and mentoring, as well as coordinating operational activities.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for maintaining effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients.
