Role Overview:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) in Epilepsy will be a field-based position, focusing on developing and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders (KOLs) in the Epilepsy therapeutic area. This role involves providing scientific exchange, clinical support, and developing research strategies for Jazz Pharmaceuticals.

Key Responsibilities:

KOL Development and Field Engagement:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers within the Epilepsy therapeutic area.
  • Execute territory plans aligned with US Medical Affairs strategies.
  • Provide scientific support for medical education, advisory boards, and sales training initiatives.
  • Represent Jazz Pharmaceuticals at scientific congresses and meetings.

Clinical Development and Research Management:

  • Serve as a liaison to investigators interested in investigator-initiated trials (IIT).
  • Monitor research progress, review study design, and ensure milestone requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with the clinical organization to support patient enrollment in clinical trials.

Medical Affairs Planning and Execution:

  • Contribute to the development of the US Medical Plan and local strategies.
  • Manage relevant budgets to enable execution of Medical Plan tactics.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials.

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain Jazz’s standards and values, ensuring ethical conduct.
  • Keep up to date with scientific literature and new developments in Epilepsy.
  • Provide clinical information in response to unsolicited questions from healthcare providers.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: MS/Advanced Practice Degree (PhD, PharmD, MD) required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Epilepsy, with a minimum of 3 years as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL).
  • MSL Experience in Neurology required, with Epilepsy experience strongly preferred.
  • Travel: Must be willing to travel 60-80% of the time.
  • Location: Must live within 60 miles of a major airport.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Pay Range: $168,000 - $252,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Bonus & Incentives: Eligibility for discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation.
