Position Overview:

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Epilepsy will engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs), healthcare providers, and academic centers of excellence. This field-based role is pivotal in providing scientific and clinical support for Jazz Pharmaceuticals, with a focus on the Epilepsy therapeutic area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • KOL Development and Field Engagement:

    • Build relationships with KOLs and healthcare providers in Epilepsy.
    • Execute territory plans and communicate insights from KOLs to internal teams.
    • Support medical education initiatives for healthcare professionals.
    • Serve as a scientific expert, providing up-to-date medical information and supporting the company's positioning in Epilepsy.
  • Clinical Development and Research Management:

    • Act as the primary liaison to investigators interested in conducting investigator-initiated trials (IIT).
    • Collaborate with clinical teams to support patient enrollment in clinical trials.
    • Assist in the evaluation of new products for the portfolio.
  • Medical Affairs Planning and Execution:

    • Contribute to the US Medical Plan, manage relevant budgets, and interact with HCPs.
    • Participate in activities such as advisory boards, speaker development, and clinical trials.
    • Ensure compliance with medical standards and Jazz values.
  • General Duties:

    • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions.
    • Communicate emerging data on products and discuss their benefits and risks.

Required:

  • Ability to research and communicate complex scientific information.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and strategic mindset.
  • Self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
  • Must be willing to travel 60-80% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Experience with the healthcare environment and medical community.
  • Established relationships with opinion leaders in Epilepsy.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for field-based personnel.

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • MS/Advanced Practice Degree (e.g., PharmD, MD, PhD) with at least 5 years of experience in Epilepsy or related field.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison in Neurology (Epilepsy preferred).
  • Travel and Location:
    • Must live within 60 miles of a major airport.
    • Must be willing to travel up to 80% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Pay Range: $168,000 - $252,000 (dependent on experience).
  • Other Compensation: Eligibility for discretionary bonuses and equity grants.
