About the Role:

As a Solution Design Manager at Novartis, you will be at the forefront of bridging business challenges with innovative technology solutions. This role requires a visionary mindset, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to drive implementation strategies that deliver impactful results. You will be responsible for transforming complex business problems into effective, scalable solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Solution Design and Implementation: Translate business challenges into valuable products and services. Lead the design and implementation of solutions from vision through to operational success, ensuring they meet business needs and enhance customer experiences.
  • Stakeholder Influence: Challenge the status quo and drive business value by leveraging industry trends, best practices, and advanced technologies. Influence stakeholders and guide them toward innovative solutions.
  • Technology and Process Re-engineering: Manage technology and engineering teams, along with internal and external partners, to re-engineer processes and develop customer-focused technology solutions.
  • Specification Development: Establish and manage the process for translating business requirements into detailed solution specifications. Define metrics and KPIs to measure success.
  • Algorithm Development: Develop and implement algorithms for precision targeting. Measure and optimize these algorithms over time to ensure quality and effectiveness.
  • Project Management: Collaborate with business partners and engineering teams to create project timelines, milestones, and communication plans. Ensure projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
  • Execution and Testing: Oversee the execution, testing, and validation of analytics applications. Develop training materials and user guides to support the implementation of solutions.
  • Agile and Design Thinking: Apply agile methodologies, design thinking, and user journey mapping to drive innovation and manage projects. Focus on accelerating clinical trial feasibility and transforming proof of concepts into operational solutions.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Successful delivery of operations and solution-led initiatives, with measurable improvements in productivity, speed, or quality. Focus on accelerating average trial cycle time.
  • Effective implementation of improvements, as evidenced by the durability of changes and achievement of efficiency and productivity targets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience: Proven experience in the life sciences or pharmaceutical industry, including critical negotiations, operations management, and execution in complex, matrixed organizations.
