Job Overview:

As a Senior Technical Architect at Fortrea, you will collaborate with cross-functional product teams to design and build innovative web-based applications that significantly impact drug development teams, clinical trial investigators, and ultimately, patients. We seek a passionate individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, understands end-user needs, and has a proven track record in developing .NET and JavaScript-based solutions.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of Microservices and modern JavaScript-based frontends.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with product management and business teams to understand customer needs and iterate on product improvements.
  • Technology Enhancement: Explore and implement new technologies and approaches, focusing on cloud-based deployments using containers and the latest .NET platform technologies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Commit to best practices, user experience enhancement, code quality, process improvement, and innovation.
  • Product Involvement: Engage in product development, including new ideas, designs, estimates, and feature roadmaps.
  • Technology Utilization: Propose and implement modern technologies to solve business challenges.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct code reviews to enforce standards and ensure quality through peer reviews and automated tools.
  • Mentorship: Guide junior developers in design, coding, configuration, testing, and maintenance of software deliverables.

Qualifications (Minimum Required):

  • Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years in full-stack .NET or Java software development and 3+ years as a Technical Architect.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices. Expertise in Cloud Platforms, Microservices, Micro frontends, Event-Driven Architecture, and front-end technologies such as AngularJS, Angular, and other JavaScript frameworks.
  • Databases: Proficiency with relational databases and SQL/NoSQL.
  • Design Principles: Strong knowledge of design for security, scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Methodologies: Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Communication: Proven ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and senior management to gather requirements and describe software features and product strategy.
  • Cloud Solutions: Experience with cloud-based solutions in AWS or Azure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in a Clinical Research Organization or healthcare-related industry.
  • Emerging Technologies: Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML).
