Purpose:

As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the daily configuration and maintenance of the Oracle Argus Pharmacovigilance (PV) Safety database, ensuring compliance with SOPs, industry standards, and applicable regulations. You will provide technical solutions, support system implementations, and manage system administration tasks to meet the needs of the PV Safety group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with PV business users to understand requirements and recommend technical solutions.
  • Create custom and ad-hoc reports from the PV Safety database using built-in tools, OBIEE, or SQL.
  • Develop and validate aggregate safety reports.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user queries related to the Safety database.
  • Support routine dictionary upgrades within the Safety database.
  • Liaise with the PV Safety database vendor on system upgrades, enhancements, issue resolution, and ongoing projects.
  • Assist in developing SOPs for the PV Safety database.
  • Support internal and external audits related to the PV Safety database.
  • Manage changes to the PV Safety database, including configuration changes and system upgrades, following PPD’s change control policies.
  • Create new tenants within the PV Safety database as required.
  • Configure distribution rules within the PV Safety database.
  • Lead data migration and validation projects, ensuring that all data migration activities meet requirements and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Provide programming support to project teams and clients for safety data review, ad-hoc reports, and other tasks.
  • Lead project initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Review and recommend process improvements.
  • Manage assignments to meet timelines and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Estimate effort and provide input during bidding activities or cost construction.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent formal academic/vocational qualification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a relevant role, providing the knowledge and skills necessary for the job.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience in Oracle Argus system administration, with current knowledge of safety system configuration, database structure, mapping requirements, and transformation rules.
  • Strong experience in generating reports and strong SQL programming skills.
  • Proven track record in safety data migrations.
  • Knowledge of relational database structures and experience working with complex data systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple assignments with tight timelines.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and motivation.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior staff members.
  • Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to complete tasks on time and within budget.
