    Job Title: Senior Principal Scientist - Synthesis

    Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

    Job Overview

    The Senior Principal Scientist - Peptide Synthesis will lead the design, development, and optimization of peptide synthesis processes. This role will drive innovation, contribute to the strategic direction of the peptides R&D program, and manage the synthesis projects from inception to completion while ensuring high-quality standards and timely delivery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Leadership and Execution

    • Lead and manage peptide synthesis projects from conception to completion, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
    • Develop and implement strategic plans for peptide R&D aligned with organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with process development and purification teams to integrate peptide synthesis seamlessly into downstream processes.
    • Explore and implement new techniques and technologies for peptide synthesis to drive innovation.

    Team Leadership and Development

    • Guide and mentor research teams to develop and adopt new chemical technologies and methodologies.
    • Foster an innovative research environment, promoting continual development and the exploration of new approaches in peptide synthesis.

    Compliance and Regulatory

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements governing peptide drug development.
    • Assist in ensuring the teams are prepared for successful regulatory inspections with no critical observations.

    EHS and Cultural Transformation

    • Support the drive for positive and major EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) cultural transformation initiatives.
    • Take ownership of solvent recovery and yield improvements, ensuring sustainability and safety.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Operations, Marketing, Quality, Finance, and Senior leaders.
    • Engage with external stakeholders like vendors and customers as needed for project success.

    Qualifications

    • Education: M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, or a related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of hands-on experience in peptide synthesis, with significant leadership experience in managing R&D projects.
    • Skills:
      • Strong leadership and project management abilities.
      • Proficient in analytical thinking, decision making, and stakeholder management.
      • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal.
      • Expertise in peptide synthesis, with the ability to innovate and apply new technologies.
