Job Purpose:
The role is part of Unilever’s Beauty & Wellbeing division, which includes Health & Wellbeing (H&W) and Prestige brands. It focuses on Vitamins, Minerals, and Supplements (VMS) and premium hair and skin care segments. The position requires a balance between strategic thinking and hands-on execution, working within an agile and entrepreneurial environment.

Job Responsibilities:
The Nutrition Scientist/Associate will support ingredient substantiation (claims and evidence generation) and nutrition education. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing Nutrition Education Content for the Global Health & Wellbeing Team, The Collectives, and external customers.
  • Identifying and validating new ingredients for the Health & Wellbeing portfolio.
  • Supporting evidence-based ingredient choices for product design, launches, and post-launch support in international markets.
  • Identifying and defining global and local claims for the Health & Wellbeing category.
  • Leading regional and local claims dossier submissions.
  • Acting as a nutrition expert in projects by translating VMS nutrition science into consumer communication and product opportunities.
  • Providing R&D inputs in Regional Claims Forum (RCF) and Regional Golden Triangle.
  • Developing scientific positions and viewpoints relevant to the business.
  • Managing external scientific developments and potential business issues.

Support Responsibilities:

  • Identifying emerging trends in key areas such as energy, immunity, digestive health, cognition/mood, women’s health, sleep, hydration, and sugar reduction.
  • Supporting evidence generation activities, including clinical and pre-clinical model research.
  • Building relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and engaging in scientific events.
  • Maintaining the Global Ingredient and Claims Database.

Experiences and Qualifications:

Essential Experience:

  • 3+ years of industry experience in healthcare, consumer goods, food, or pharmaceuticals.
  • Broad knowledge of Nutrition and Health Science.
  • Ability to translate nutrition science into consumer propositions, claims, and communication.
  • Experience managing complex projects.
  • Proficiency in R&D digital tools and processes.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Master’s degree in nutrition science, food science, dietetics, or a related field.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Project management, networking, and stakeholder management expertise.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
