Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for writing original, high-quality scientific content for healthcare professional (HCP) and internal client audiences. The role involves analyzing and interpreting clinical data to create scientifically accurate communications, such as publications, slide decks, abstracts, meeting summaries, and other deliverables.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong expertise in relevant therapeutic areas, follow internal processes and industry guidelines, and work collaboratively across different teams to produce impactful medical communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Write original content for publications and communication activities, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide presentations, and meeting summaries for HCP and internal clients.
  • Scientific Interpretation: Analyze and interpret clinical data to produce scientifically accurate and meaningful content.
  • Adherence to Guidelines: Follow internal writing guidelines, client-specific style guidelines, and industry best practices (e.g., GPP3).
  • Project Management: Collaborate with internal teams to manage timelines, deliverables, and workflow for efficient project completion.
  • Client Collaboration: Participate in author/client teleconferences, addressing content-related questions, and lead teleconferences as necessary.
  • Content Review: Review and revise medical writers' and freelance writers' work, providing feedback to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Strategic Input: Participate in brainstorming sessions and publications planning meetings to help shape strategy and goals for medical communications.
  • New Business Support: Assist in the development of new business presentations by researching and synthesizing clinical and pharmacological data.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.

  • Collaborate closely with team members, stakeholders, and clients to produce high-quality work and innovative solutions.
  • Represent the organization professionally, contributing to team culture and building strong internal relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external teams to ensure alignment and progress on deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • PhD, PharmD, or MD.
  • 3+ years of experience in medical communications.
  • Substantial experience in medical writing, with a wide range of communication formats (publications, abstracts, posters, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings, congress events, and sales meetings.
  • Ability to conduct both virtual and in-person presentations.
  • Flexibility to work nontraditional hours based on client needs.
