Job Description

The Position

Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) engage in non-promotional, peer-to-peer communications, providing medical and scientific information to Scientific Leaders (SLs) and Key Decision Makers (KDMs).

Responsibilities

Engagement with External Leaders

  • Facilitate non-promotional exchanges of medical and scientific information with SLs and KDMs, adhering to local laws, regulations, and industry codes.
  • Gain insights into disease areas, therapeutic needs, data gaps, and challenges within the local geography.
  • Represent Medical Affairs at non-promotional medical events (e.g., Medical Congresses and Symposia), collaborating on pre-event scientific information and post-event summaries.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests for medical, scientific, or product information from SLs or KDMs using approved materials.
  • Direct inquiries regarding company research and grant activities to appropriate resources.
  • Organize and participate in scientific exchange activities, such as hospital lectures, journal clubs, and advisory boards, potentially taking on the role of presenter.
  • Provide medical/scientific support for Health Technology Assessments and formulary decisions.

Internal Support

  • Formulate and implement regional Medical Affairs Plans.
  • Identify potential study investigators for sponsored studies at the request of clinical trial personnel.
  • Share insights gathered from scientific exchanges to inform development programs and company strategy.
  • Support commercial teams with on-label scientific training, as permitted.
  • Provide scientific support for patient access programs.

Tasks

  • Collaborate with Medical Advisors and MSLs in therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure effective knowledge transfer and exchange with internal colleagues.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Demonstrated capability to apply up-to-date scientific knowledge in peer-to-peer engagements.
  • Strong scientific knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas and clinical trial methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, including listening and probing across diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strategic thinking and project management skills.
  • Relevant pharmaceutical experience and a college degree in pharmacy or a related field.
  • Fluent in English.
