Job Description

Position: Medical Information Specialist

Medical Information is a crucial, client-facing function dedicated to supporting the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical products. This role involves providing timely, scientifically accurate, and non-promotional information in response to unsolicited requests from healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, and payers. The Medical Information Specialist will manage global inboxes, process adverse event reports, and handle medical inquiries and product quality complaints. This role will also oversee medical communications operations and drug safety activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage global inboxes and process adverse event reports, product quality complaints, and medical inquiries.
  • Enter data and triage reports from healthcare professionals and patients, identifying and documenting adverse events and product complaints.
  • Write and file adverse event and product quality complaint reports.
  • Coordinate processes for responding to quality-related complaints, interacting with client managers as needed.
  • Oversee medical communications operations and drug safety activities as directed by management.
  • Mentor and train junior staff, providing initial and ongoing training.
  • Monitor work processes to ensure compliance with client performance requirements.
  • Conduct quality monitoring and peer reviews for the global inbox team.
  • Demonstrate commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and managing bias.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Education: Pharm.D, Master of Science (MSc), B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or a related Life Sciences degree.
  • Experience and Training: Excellent documentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
