Job Summary:

The Senior Manager, Scientific Exchange plays a crucial role within the Global Medical Affairs Scientific Exchange Team, reporting to the Director, Scientific Exchange for assigned therapeutic areas. This full-time, exempt remote position is responsible for managing and directing the Global Scientific Exchange efforts in support of both marketed and pipeline indications. The Senior Manager will also provide medical expertise for the Promotional Review Committee (PRC) for the assigned therapeutic area(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Global Scientific Exchange efforts to ensure alignment with corporate goals and milestones for assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure that the output of the Global Scientific Exchange team meets the requirements of global and regional cross-functional partners.
  • Manage a team of Managers, Specialists, Fellows, and Interns within the Global Scientific Exchange team, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and maintaining high-quality performance and compliance.
  • Oversee the management of Global Scientific Exchange assets to ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Participate in medical affairs team meetings and provide updates on program developments to internal stakeholders.
  • Lead or oversee cross-functional working groups for matrixed projects to ensure alignment of messaging and materials with Global Scientific Exchange goals and corporate strategy.
  • Assist in the identification, sourcing, evaluation, and hiring of vendors as needed for departmental projects. Participate in vendor pitch presentations as appropriate.
  • Manage PRC reviews for assigned therapeutic areas, including tumor-agnostic and ad-hoc reviews, in collaboration with Medical Directors.
  • Contribute to Medical Affairs planning and departmental activities for assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Oversee congress planning, including medical booth design and exhibit management, and develop plans for primary conference coverage.
  • Manage competitive intelligence monitoring initiatives for assigned therapeutic areas.
  • Collaborate with medical affairs team members to ensure comprehensive congress coverage, data consolidation, and analysis.
  • Develop and implement policies, SOPs, business practices, and work instructions to improve efficiency and quality output.
  • Stay current with industry standards and practices, ensuring activities comply with company policies and standards.

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • Ability to translate corporate strategies into medical affairs and communications programs.
  • Excellent project management, planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a strong ability to manage timelines.
  • Advanced scientific acumen with expertise in statistical analysis and the ability to analyze clinical and scientific studies.
  • Prior experience in people management is desirable.
  • Strong strategic thinking, attention to detail, and ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, manage conflicts through discussion and agreement, as appropriate.
  • Advanced scientific degree (Ph.D., PharmD, M.D.) with at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry or scientific research.
  • Experience in the solid tumor space is preferred.
  • Proven track record in cross-functional project management and execution.
  • Exceptional writing, reviewing, editing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
