Purpose:

The MAP is a Clinical Scientist aligned with Medical Affairs who provides strategic and tactical insights into the lifecycle planning of treatments. Leveraging their expertise in disease states and available therapies, the MAP supports brand strategy, ensures compliance with medical regulations, and fosters collaboration across cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Scientific Expertise and Medical Affairs Delivery:

  • Develop and execute therapeutic area medical plans in collaboration with the CRP (Clinical Research Physician).

  • Lead the development of scientific publications (e.g., abstracts, posters, manuscripts) and educational materials.

  • Partner with internal medical teams (e.g., CRP, MSLs) to ensure exceptional customer engagement using omnichannel strategies.

  • Contribute to insight generation by understanding patient journeys, unmet needs, and treatment landscapes.

  • Support CRP in data generation aligned with business needs.

  • Manage the development, review, and dissemination of medical information letters and scientific disclosures.

  • Critically appraise medical literature to ensure alignment with therapeutic area advancements.

Cross-functional Team Collaboration:

  • Act as a key medical point of contact for cross-functional teams, including brand strategy and promotional material development.

  • Provide scientific input for local material creation and review global materials for alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Oversee the medical aspects of patient support programs and facilitate medical training for internal teams.

  • Plan and implement symposia, advisory boards, and educational events with healthcare professionals.

Customer Engagement:

  • Respond to unsolicited medical information requests in compliance with company policies.

  • Drive coordination and engagement with Thought Leaders and relevant professional societies.

  • Deliver scientific presentations and ensure a high-quality customer experience.

  • Utilize digital innovations to enhance customer engagements.

Collaboration with Regulatory Affairs:

  • Support development and review of local labels and modifications in collaboration with regulatory teams.

  • Participate in health authority meetings and contribute to regulatory strategies.

  • Assist in risk management planning and resolution of regulatory issues.

Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on therapeutic advancements and undergo regular professional training.

  • Complete performance objectives (myPM) as per company processes.

  • Ensure understanding and compliance with company policies and procedures.


Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Requirements:

  • Core: MBBS or PhD in a medically related field.

  • Desired: MD in clinical or non-clinical subjects.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Core:

    • Minimum of 2 years in a medical/scientific role within the pharmaceutical industry.

    • Familiarity with customer engagement and cross-functional collaboration (e.g., marketing, regulatory, compliance).

    • Strong business acumen and ability to deliver as an individual contributor or team player.

  • Desired:

    • 2–3 years of relevant clinical practice experience.

Key Skills:

  • Strong leadership and influence capabilities.

  • Ability to manage complex deliverables and prioritize effectively.

  • Proficiency in translating scientific data into actionable and compliant communication.

  • High learning agility and comprehension of complex scientific data.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-centric approach.

Additional Requirements:

  • May involve domestic and international travel.

  • Evening or weekend work may be required depending on business needs.
