Summary

The Novartis Technical Operations (NTO) Global Operations Center (GOC) Data Governance & Operations team focuses on developing and maintaining metadata, master data, data quality parameters, data lineage, KPI reports, and workflows. This ensures that data is governed, consistent, reliable, and accessible for decision-making, all while adhering to pharmaceutical regulatory and compliance requirements.

About the Role

Position: Senior Manager - Master Data Management
Location: Hyderabad

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee complex global master data management processes, ensuring accurate and timely preparation and maintenance of master data in the SAP ERP system, in line with supply chain operations and GxP regulatory requirements.
  • Manage end-to-end master data services across manufacturing and supply chain functions.
  • Coach and mentor master data experts to enhance the implementation of master data operations.
  • Efficiently handle global and local master data tasks in compliance with established processes to build and maintain a robust global enterprise data structure.
  • Develop and formalize proactive master data integrity checks to guarantee high-quality deliverables.
  • Establish, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs), taking proactive actions for improvements based on customer satisfaction and feedback.
  • Maintain exemplary communication with all stakeholders through regular updates focused on accomplishments, KPIs, best practices, staffing changes, and key events.
  • Set up and execute complex local and global master data configurations, establishing processes, guidelines, business metrics, and SLA timelines within a GxP environment.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of business systems, processes, data stewardship, and ownership.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, articulating recommendations and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Plan proactively, anticipate changes, and implement organizational goals and metrics effectively.
  • Collaborate with GBPO, Group Leaders, and Global Heads of Master Data Management to ensure flexible coordination of activities that meet expectations in terms of time and quality.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 12 years of overall experience in Master Data Operations within Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience with Change Control systems (e.g., SAP) and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in collaboration, conflict management, problem-solving, and process management, with experience in adoption, transition, and transformation projects.
  • Excellent program management skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree, MBA in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Engineering, Commerce, or Economics. A PhD in Biotechnology is a plus.
