Job Description:

The Senior Executive - Medical Billing (Charge Posting) is responsible for accurately reviewing and posting charges for medical services, ensuring compliance with billing and coding guidelines, and collaborating with various teams to optimize revenue cycle processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review and post medical service charges from healthcare providers.
  • Analyze patient encounter documentation (e.g., super bills, operative reports) to ensure proper charge capture.
  • Collaborate with coding professionals to verify codes and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance payer guidelines.
  • Maintain high accuracy in charge entry, double-checking for completeness.
  • Conduct thorough charge reviews to identify and rectify potential coding errors.
  • Work with the denial management team to resolve charge-related denials and rejections.
  • Analyze denial patterns and recommend process improvements to minimize future denials.
  • Meet or exceed productivity and timeliness targets for charge posting.
  • Maintain accurate records and performance metrics for charge posting activities.
  • Prepare reports and analysis, highlighting trends, discrepancies, and key performance indicators.

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience in charge posting or healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and reimbursement processes.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, HCPCS, and ICD coding systems.
  • Familiarity with insurance payer guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurers).
  • Proficient in using healthcare billing systems and electronic medical records (EMR) software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
