About the Role
The Senior Content Development Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and executing a customer-focused content publishing strategy for assigned medical reference products. The role includes content development, determining the format, multimedia components, revision schedules, and managing budgets, schedules, and contract negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Anticipate content rendering issues and guide authors in preparing content for maximum customer benefit.

  • Plan and develop content for both electronic and print formats that meet market needs and help increase product market share.

  • Advise on content writing and development to optimize online discoverability.

  • Participate in content delivery planning and updates for platforms like ClinicalKey, Expert Consult, and others.

  • Develop and communicate guidelines for writers regarding content and e-content enhancements, format, and illustration styles.

  • Review all stages of writing to ensure adherence to guidelines.

  • Monitor budgets and work with writers to correct deviations from plans.

  • Create content maps linking text to assets, and envision and create enhancements for various electronic formats.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with content publishing processes internally or with vendors.

  • Ability to manage e-development and assignments for online or e-book development projects.

  • Experience with technology, including e-books, tablets, and online tools.

  • Proven experience managing writers/SMEs and handling multiple, high-priority projects.

  • Understanding of acceptable formats for digital text and art, with proficiency in Word, Excel, and internet research.

  • Knowledge of EPUB, HTML5, and XML as they relate to e-book publishing processes.

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in English, Project Management, e-Learning, or a related field.

  • Experience in technology projects or developing content for print and e-book formats.
