Job Description:

Syneos Health is seeking a Senior Clinical Coder to join our home-based team in India. This leadership role requires experience in coding large, multicenter clinical trials, working with sponsors on coding conventions, specifications, and decisions. You will manage and mentor junior coders, lead the quality check process, and manage coding tool setups. The position also involves liaising with clinical trial teams to ensure coding deliverables are met and supporting activities such as data management and UAT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead coding efforts for large, multicenter clinical trials, including the coding convention, specification, and decision-making process.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior coders, overseeing the quality check (QC) process.
  • Support coding setup, dictionary up-version/reversion processes, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Manage coding resource allocation, bidding, and tool development.
  • Attend national/international meetings to represent data management and coding.
  • Ensure adherence to coding specifications, dictionary schema, and auto coding algorithms.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA Degree in Biological Sciences, Healthcare, or Clinical Research preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in medical coding, with strong WHODrug and MedDRA knowledge.
  • Experience with TMS (Thesaurus Management System), including dictionary cleanup and repository maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of drug safety, coding for both safety and non-safety events.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email, and voicemail.
  • Ability to travel as necessary (up to 25%).
