The Senior Clinical Coder will be responsible for leading clinical coding activities in multicenter clinical trials, ensuring consistency, compliance, and accuracy in medical coding for clinical research data.
Lead coding activities in multicenter large-scale clinical trials
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with coding conventions and guidelines
Work closely with sponsors to define coding specifications and decisions
Manage coding setup activities, dictionary updates, and auto-coding algorithms
Perform Quality Control (QC) checks and consistency analysis on coded data
Act as the primary liaison with sponsors for coding-related discussions
Participate in protocol development and database build processes
Lead the coding QC process and support database lock (DBL) activities
Manage coding resource allocation, pricing, bidding, and tool development
Provide training and mentorship to junior clinical coders
Assist in coding tool implementation and system upgrades
Participate in national and international meetings, representing Data Management/Coding
BS/BA in Biological Sciences, Healthcare, or Clinical Research (preferred)
5+ years of experience in clinical coding
Experience as a Lead Coder managing large-scale studies
Proficiency in Medidata Rave, Veeva Coder, or other Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS)
Strong understanding of medical dictionaries (MedDRA, WHO Drug)
Knowledge of data management processes, DB quality control, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
Worked on 94% of all Novel FDA-Approved Drugs in the past five years
Collaborated on 95% of EMA-Authorized Products and 200+ studies across 73,000 sites
