About the Role

ICON plc, the world’s largest and most comprehensive clinical research organization, is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join our innovative team. As part of ICON, you'll be empowered to lead data management and analytics strategies, ensuring data consistency, quality, and accuracy across systems. This role will play a key part in shaping data strategies that drive actionable insights and business decisions within the clinical research field.


Key Responsibilities

  • Master Data Management (MDM):

    • Design, develop, and implement MDM strategies that align with business goals, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across systems.
    • Create and maintain data models that adhere to organizational standards and support data integration.
  • Data Modeling & Analytics:

    • Perform data modeling and analytics to support integration and reporting needs, enabling informed decision-making.
    • Collaborate with business and IT teams to establish best practices for data structures and MDM.
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership:

    • Lead MDM projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and successful delivery.
    • Oversee cross-functional teams to develop data governance frameworks, policies, and processes to maintain high data quality.
  • Project Management:

    • Manage project timelines, scope, and resources to ensure high-quality delivery within budget.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Engage with key stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide expert support for data management strategies.
    • Regularly update and communicate with teams to ensure alignment and clarity on project goals.
  • Data Quality & Governance:

    • Implement data governance best practices to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
    • Develop and enforce MDM policies to ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal standards.
  • Tool Implementation & Optimization:

    • Work with MDM tools and technologies to implement and optimize data management solutions.
    • Continuously explore new technologies to enhance data accessibility and quality.
  • Documentation & Reporting:

    • Document processes, standards, and protocols related to data management.
    • Provide regular reports on MDM performance, identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in MDM, data analytics, and data stewardship.
    • Expertise in data modeling, analytics, and working with MDM tools such as Collibra.
    • Proficiency in programming languages like SQL to interact with relational databases.
  • Skills:

    • Strong project management and leadership skills.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of data governance and regulatory compliance.
