Experienced Biostatistician at Parexel

Job Description:
As an experienced Biostatistician at Parexel, you will play a key role in the design and execution of research strategies, statistical methodologies, and data analysis to support the safety and efficacy of new health treatments. You will contribute to research design, provide input into protocols, develop and review statistical analysis plans, and author/co-author reports, abstracts, and manuscripts. Your role will involve overseeing and ensuring the quality control of statistical deliverables while directing the Biostatistical activities on a study. You will also be a client-facing functional lead within the study team, ensuring that all deliverables are met with the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead Research Design & Analysis:

    • Develop complex analysis strategies, using efficient programming techniques (software: SAS, R).

    • Leverage your expertise to drive the research and analytical strategies that support clinical trial and observational study designs.

  2. Statistical Analysis & Reporting:

    • Perform intricate statistical analyses and contribute to the creation of statistical reports and sections of integrated clinical reports.

    • Provide input to analysis plans, statistical reports, and protocol development.

  3. Quality Control & Deliverables:

    • Ensure the quality control of statistical analysis deliverables, including reviewing analysis data sets.

    • Take accountability for Biostatistical deliverables, guiding junior team members and mentoring them in best practices.

  4. Client Interaction & Collaboration:

    • Act as the client-facing lead within study teams, providing expert advice and direction through the proposal process and the entire project lifecycle.

    • Foster collaboration within cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of study outcomes.

  5. Mentorship & Leadership:

    • Mentor and coach junior members of the Biostatistics department, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.


Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of industry or directly relevant experience in biostatistics, particularly within clinical trials or epidemiology.

    • A thorough understanding of the statistical aspects of clinical trials or observational studies.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in SAS programming or R programming (desired).

  • Education:

    • A Master’s or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.

  • Key Skills:

    • Strong leadership and communication skills, both oral and written, in English.

    • Ability to work independently and quickly learn in a matrixed team environment.

    • A proactive work ethic to drive forward life-changing treatments for patients.
