About the Team:

The Antibody Team is dedicated to engineering and developing antibodies with a focus on reagent quality and specificity. This team drives product development and creates product-specific information to support research. The core activities include the design, development, purification, conjugation, and testing of antibodies for immunoassay applications using innovative tools and technologies.

Role Overview:

As a Scientist II, Protein Biology, you will contribute to advancing molecular biology techniques and sequencing technologies within the antibody development team. This role will help enable high-throughput recombinant antibody platforms, with a focus on next-generation methodologies for vector improvements and cloning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and testing of next-generation antibody development methodologies in a fast-paced environment.
  • Develop strategies for high throughput workflows in recombinant antibody platforms, including vector improvements and cloning techniques.
  • Provide informal leadership in a matrix-style team, mentoring and training junior scientists on research design, experimental execution, and data interpretation.
  • Drive conceptualization within teams to create successful protocols and facilitate the transfer of these protocols to operations teams.
  • Partner with functions such as product management, program management, operations, and business development to meet program goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and foster innovation across cross-functional teams.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Education:
    • PhD with up to 3 years of experience, or
    • Master’s degree with up to 8 years of experience.
  • Experience:
    • Hands-on experience in antibody development, including hybridoma, display technologies, single B cell, and other antibody platforms.
    • Knowledge of molecular biology, vector design, next-generation cloning, and sequencing technologies (Sanger and next-gen sequencing).
    • Proven experience in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and providing technical solutions.
    • Experience in establishing new protocols and workflows is highly desirable.
    • Experience leading molecular biology or sequencing core facilities is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), with strong statistical knowledge and familiarity with statistical software (e.g., Prism).
    • Strong oral and written communication skills to connect with peers and leadership.
    • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic research environment.
