Scientific Writing Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and create content for a variety of medical materials, including brochures, slide decks, newsletters, infographics, and more, ensuring 100% quality and adherence to deadlines.
  • Make informed decisions on the presentation of information, content structure, flow, and visual appeal of documents, while adhering to AMA style and proper language, grammar, and referencing.
  • Conduct literature searches and retrieve relevant publications/data using scientific databases such as PubMed and Embase.
  • Familiarity with medical information management, including drafting standard response documents and medical information letters, is a plus.
  • Follow departmental best practices in processes, communication (both internal and external), project management, and documentation.
  • Participate in assigned training programs and complete assignments as required.
  • Engage in client calls as necessary for project needs.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, confidentiality, and security standards; adhere to training and specifications.

Desired Skill Set:

  1. 2 to 10 years of experience in medical/scientific writing within pharmaceutical companies or medical communications agencies.
  2. Knowledge of a specialty area in medicine (preferred) or a broad understanding of the medical field.
  3. A strong passion for writing.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  5. Interest in networking.
  6. Awareness of the latest technical/scientific developments and their application to various projects.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft tools.
  8. Basic understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation.
  9. Qualifications: M. Pharm, Pharm. D, BDS, MDS, Ph.D., or any life science graduate with publication or medical writing experience.
