Role Overview:

As part of the Global Patient Safety (GPS) team, the Safety Operations Specialist will act as a subject matter expert in literature review and intake activities. You will be responsible for reviewing literature abstracts and articles to identify and intake valid and invalid safety cases, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Literature Review: Review weekly literature abstracts to identify potential safety cases (valid and invalid).
  • Full-Text Review: Order full-text articles when necessary, and conduct comprehensive reviews to identify safety cases.
  • Case Intake: Intake valid and invalid safety cases from literature reviews and document them appropriately.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality control for both real-time and retrospective literature review and case intake activities.
  • Training: Lead new hire training and certification for literature review and intake procedures.
  • Administrative Tasks: Order necessary copyrights and translations for literature reviews.
  • Follow-Up: Conduct follow-up activities for literature cases to ensure all required information is captured and processed.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders.

  • Adaptability: Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle changing priorities, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using Pharmacovigilance Safety Systems and Literature Tracking Tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to ensure high-quality, accurate case reviews and documentation.

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Degree in Nursing, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or an equivalent field.
    • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in pharmacovigilance, hospital care, or similar environments.
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in Safety or Regulatory Affairs.
