Our team of multidisciplinary Modelling and Simulation experts is dedicated to designing and implementing advanced health economic models that capture complex medical processes. These models are pivotal in evaluating clinical trial implications, demonstrating the value of healthcare interventions beyond efficacy, and assessing the economic consequences of medical solutions. We specialize in cost-effectiveness analyses, simulation models (e.g., discrete event simulation), and decision-analytic models (e.g., Markov, decision trees, survival partition).


Position Overview

As a Research Scientist, you will serve as the independent project lead and principal investigator, managing all aspects of project delivery and ensuring the highest scientific quality. You will lead strategic client interactions, provide innovative health economic model designs, and contribute significantly to business development efforts. Additionally, you will mentor junior staff and collaborate with global teams to deliver impactful research outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Act as the principal investigator for projects, overseeing budgets, deliverables, and timelines.

  • Conceptualize and implement advanced health economic models for cost-effectiveness and budget impact analyses.

  • Ensure adherence to high scientific standards and best practices for research needs.

  • Delegate project management tasks to mid-level and junior staff.

Client Engagement & Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, primarily with pharmaceutical and medical device companies.

  • Lead the proposal process, including bringing in leads, writing proposals, and closing sales.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, meeting sales targets.

Scientific Innovation

  • Innovate in model design and study protocols, ensuring scientific rigor in project deliverables.

  • Develop advanced methodologies and statistical analysis plans for client projects.

  • Serve as a strategic consultant for research needs across a diverse portfolio.

Team Development & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior staff and guide other principal investigators.

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of team members.

  • Design staffing plans and ensure team synergy to meet project demands.


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Biostatistics, or a related field.

  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in the healthcare or consulting industry, with a focus on health economics or modeling.

  • Proven track record in business development and cultivating client relationships.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel modeling skills, with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.

Technical Expertise

  • Broad experience in health economics, including models for submission to Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies.

  • Strong understanding of methodologies, statistics, and practical research implementation.
