Position Overview

Designation: Research Associate - 1 / Research Associate - 2 (L1/L2)
Experience: 1-6 years
Qualification: M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, M. Pharma, or a related field

The Research Associate will work in the Synthesis Department of Jubilant Biosys. The role focuses on the synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel chemical compounds essential for drug discovery. This position requires collaboration with a dynamic team to drive forward research projects while ensuring the safe conduct of all experiments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Chemical Synthesis & Purification: Synthesize, purify, and characterize novel chemical entities for drug discovery.
  • Project Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to drive chemistry projects.
  • Chemical Expertise: Demonstrate expertise in organic chemistry, functional group conversion, and multi-step synthesis.
  • Safety: Ensure safe conduct of all reactions in adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
  • Analytical Skills: Analyze data using NMR, IR, and Mass Spectrometry.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records using electronic lab notebooks and software like ChemDraw and ISIS.
  • Laboratory Techniques: Proficient in TLC, column purification, and extraction techniques.
  • Literature Search: Conduct literature searches using Reaxys to support ongoing projects.

Person Profile

  • Education: M.Sc in Organic Chemistry or related field, M. Pharma.
  • Experience: 1-6 years of industry experience, preferably with a leading CRO organization.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent knowledge of organic chemistry and synthesis techniques.
    • Proficiency in TLC, column purification, extraction, and spectroscopic analysis.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
