Job Title: Research Associate, In Vivo Pharmacology

Role Overview
We are looking for a Research Associate to support our In Vivo Pharmacology team by conducting rodent studies that contribute to our Platform Science research. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mouse and rat studies, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Attention to detail is crucial for handling samples and supporting various studies across multiple disease areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily assist in executing internal in vivo studies involving rats and mice.
  • Perform technical procedures such as dosing, anesthesia administration, surgical interventions, and post-operative care.
  • Label tubes, process samples, and manage shipping and support activities.
  • Oversee the management of samples collected from in vivo studies.
  • Execute and troubleshoot standard protocols, adapting them as needed.
  • Accurately document scientific work and contribute to reports and presentations.
  • Uphold the highest standards of animal welfare throughout all experimental studies.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or data analysis software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of relevant industry experience, or a BS in biological sciences (or equivalent) with related experience.
  • Preferred expertise in rodent techniques, including:
    • Administration of pharmacological agents via intravenous (IV), intraperitoneal (IP), subcutaneous (SC), and intramuscular (IM) routes.
    • Blood and tissue collection through various methods.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing independent responsibilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proven track record of working effectively in a team-oriented setting and contributing to team goals.

Additional Information
This is a site-based position at Moderna, requiring full-time attendance. Remote work is not an option.
