Job Description:
The Research Assistant II supports systematic literature reviews, feasibility assessments, and landscape analyses for global clients across the pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device industries. The role involves protocol development, literature screening, data abstraction, and publication drafting. This position collaborates with project leads, peers, and clients to ensure rigorous, timely, and high-quality evidence synthesis to support medical communications and decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with systematic/targeted literature reviews and gap assessments.

  • Prepare research protocols and define research questions (e.g., for PROSPERO registration).

  • Develop inclusion/exclusion criteria using the PICOS framework.

  • Screen abstracts and full texts using DistillerSR or equivalent tools.

  • Create PRISMA flow diagrams and conduct risk of bias assessments.

  • Abstract and validate data from selected studies; ensure data quality.

  • Draft publications such as manuscripts, abstracts, and posters.

  • Support peer training and project setup within DistillerSR.

  • Participate in client meetings and document outcomes (e.g., minutes).

  • Contribute to the development of SOPs and best practices.


Qualifications:

  • Education:
    BSc or comparable degree in a medically related field (e.g., biology, pharmacology, biochemistry, epidemiology).

  • Experience:
    Minimum 1.5 years of experience in systematic or structured literature reviews.

  • Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in EndNote, DistillerSR, and evidence synthesis methodologies.

  • Soft Skills:
    Strong communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Flexibility in handling shifting timelines and priorities.
