Position: Medical Economics Specialist

Location: Remote (Maryland-based healthcare organization)

Overview: A recognized healthcare organization in Maryland is seeking a new Medical Economics Specialist to join their remote team. In collaboration with a group of Healthcare Economics professionals, the Medical Economics Specialist will support the organization's goal of providing executive leadership with actionable intelligence related to the financial, clinical, and analytical performance of various lines of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop reporting and analyses to measure health plan trends and performance.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop analyses aimed at identifying key performance drivers.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure knowledge sharing of best technical and analytic practices.
  • Serve as a resource for leaders and stakeholders throughout the organization to craft creative analytic approaches to practical business issues.
  • Lead the development and production of cost, revenue, and utilization reporting, incorporating both internal and external benchmarks.
  • Manage stakeholder needs in projects, including designing communication processes, project timelines, and formal presentations.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and analysis for business units throughout the organization.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of related work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare Analytics, Financial, Statistical, and Data Science concepts.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Healthcare industry.
  • Experience with analysis of Healthcare Claims data.
  • Experience with Financial/Accounting and Statistical concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Data Analytics, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau, and/or PowerBI.
  • Background in Managed Care/Health Plan claims.
