Position Summary:

As the Regional Sales Manager at J&J MedTech India (JJMI), you will lead the development and execution of sales strategies for the Ethicon franchise. You will build and nurture relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and retailers to drive business growth and establish new market opportunities. This role demands a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competitive dynamics. You will inspire and guide a sales team to achieve targets, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Leadership:

    • Drive sales of franchise products within the region to both corporate and government accounts.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand market share and realize business potential.
    • Negotiate contracts and secure long-term supply agreements, including government tenders.
  • Market Analysis & Strategy:

    • Analyze sales reports to identify opportunities and risks, adjusting strategies and resource allocation as needed.
    • Establish systems to monitor compliance with sales plans, including volume, price, and value objectives.
    • Conduct SWOT analysis of the territory to develop actionable sales plans and set realistic targets.
  • Team Management:

    • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
    • Work closely with team members in the field to enhance coverage and maintain high customer rapport.
    • Provide coaching and development to team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Customer Relationships:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
    • Address customer complaints promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
    • Develop innovative customer support services and tender arrangements to enhance business performance.
  • Internal Coordination:

    • Collaborate with the Franchise Marketing team to align sales strategies with marketing efforts.
    • Utilize internal resources and expertise to support sales initiatives and improve service delivery.
    • Manage operating expenses and inventory levels efficiently to meet business objectives.
  • Self-Development & Team Development:

    • Identify areas for personal improvement and participate in relevant training programs.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the team, promoting diversity and talent growth.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Post-graduation or graduation degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 4 years of experience in B2B sales and marketing, preferably in medical devices or pharmaceuticals.
    • Experience with government business, tenders, and contracts, particularly within Karnataka State.
    • At least 1-2 years of experience in a people management role.
  • Skills:

    • Proven track record of driving sales and achieving targets.
    • Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs.
    • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
    • Ability to analyze data, develop strategic plans, and implement effective sales strategies.
