Position Overview

The Regional Medical Lead (RML) for Radiology is responsible for developing and implementing disease-focused medical strategies, aligning them with regional and global initiatives. This role emphasizes building advocacy, fostering cross-functional collaboration, providing medical expertise, and supporting regulatory, developmental, and business functions. The incumbent will work at the APAC level, driving pivotal studies, investigator-initiated research, and medical education programs, while representing Bayer Radiology as a medical expert.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Planning and Implementation

    • Develop and execute the APAC disease-focused medical strategy and plans.
    • Co-lead or lead regional or global disease initiatives.
  2. External Engagement and Advocacy

    • Build strong partnerships with Thought Leaders (TLs) to support medical education and clinical/scientific research.
    • Drive advocacy and communication for medical education initiatives in the therapeutic area.
    • Deliver effective presentations to various audiences, including physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and radiographers.
  3. Medical Expertise and Support

    • Provide insights and support for regulatory submissions and medical queries related to new indications.
    • Offer medical information services for assigned therapeutic areas.
    • Support market access programs and internal scientific training for sales teams.
  4. Research and Publications

    • Contribute to publication planning and development of medical education materials.
    • Participate in clinical/scientific research and pivotal studies as a regional medical expert.
  5. Internal Collaboration

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams at global, regional, and country levels.
    • Provide proactive medical expertise to local and regional teams, fostering effective collaboration.
  6. Data and Market Analysis

    • Collect, analyze, and integrate competitive intelligence into medical strategies.
    • Stay updated on disease states, clinical data, and market landscapes in the therapeutic area.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Educational Qualifications:

    • Advanced clinical or scientific degrees (MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD).
  2. Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry as an MSL or Medical Advisor.
    • Experience in Radiology or related therapeutic areas (e.g., liver diseases) is a plus.
  3. Skills and Competencies:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
    • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
