About the Department:

The Clinical, Medical, Regulatory (CMR) department at Novo Nordisk is a core function that drives the business strategy through effective execution of clinical research, medical affairs, and regulatory goals. This position is a 1-year contract to cover maternity leave and plays a key role in building relationships with healthcare professionals and supporting scientific activities across various therapy areas.

The Position:

As a Regional Medical Advisor (also known as Medical Scientific Liaison - MSL), you will be responsible for advancing scientific and medical knowledge internally and externally. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a liaison between Novo Nordisk and the external scientific community, particularly with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs). This role will involve both 30% in-house scientific activities and 70% field-based interactions with KOLs and HCPs (both face-to-face and virtual).

This position is open for 2 headcounts, each focusing on different therapy areas, and will require strong cross-functional collaboration with clinical development, market access, and medical affairs teams.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • KOL and HCP Engagement: Manage key opinion leaders (KOLs), execute medical activities like advisory boards and summits, and develop strategies to increase advocacy and awareness of Novo Nordisk products. You will engage in scientific dialogues and generate valuable medical insights that inform product strategies.
  • Medical Education and Training: Develop and execute medical training and communication strategies, providing medical and scientific information to internal teams and external customers. Support internal teams by developing scientific content for publications, presentations, and meetings.
  • Clinical Trial Support: Assist with local investigator meetings, site selection for clinical studies, and act as a clinical trial specialist when necessary. Provide support for investigator-sponsored studies and manage communications related to clinical trial processes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, such as Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Regulatory, and Commercial, to ensure alignment and support for Novo Nordisk’s medical and scientific goals.
  • Compliance and Business Ethics: Attend compliance meetings to ensure departmental adherence to Novo Nordisk’s Business Ethics strategies. Report potential compliance issues and take action to ensure ethical standards are met in all interactions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in bioscience, medicine, or pharmacology (Advanced degree such as a PhD or a pharmacy degree is preferred).
  • Ideally, 2-3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, with a focus on medical affairs being highly desirable.
  • Strong fluency in Korean and a good command of English is required.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with KOLs and HCPs and to engage in meaningful scientific dialogue.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
