Regional Compliance Specialist – MV Transportation (Remote, 80% Travel)

MV Transportation is seeking a Regional Compliance Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements across various divisions. This position will focus on safety, drug and alcohol programs, licensing, credentials, and other regulatory requirements, partnering closely with regional teams to improve overall compliance. As a key member of the compliance team, you will help maintain audit-ready documentation, support training efforts, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.

This is a remote position requiring 80% travel within your assigned region.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Region Safety Directors, General Managers, and division safety teams to develop and implement strategies aimed at improving regulatory compliance across divisions.
  • Conduct routine onsite safety program audits and analyze audit results to identify areas of improvement, tracking corrective actions to resolution.
  • Stay current with changing regulations to ensure compliance across the region.
  • Partner with Operations to guide management and safety-sensitive employees on FTA compliance and related issues.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and files for all divisions, ensuring that all materials are accessible and up-to-date.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to divisions on how to improve compliance and overall performance.
  • Assist in preparing for audits from various regulatory bodies including CHP, FTA, FMCSA, OSHA, and client contracts or state audits.
  • Maintain a calendar of upcoming audits and proactively focus on key compliance areas.
  • Support new division start-ups to ensure compliance post-launch.
  • Assist with auditing DMV testing and ensure program compliance.
  • Contribute to improving compliance numbers in low-performing divisions, driving continuous improvement in compliance programs and processes.
  • Ensure that all safety manuals, training programs, and policies are current and adhered to.
  • Partner with regional training managers to develop training materials and guides to support compliance assurance.
  • Demonstrate ethical behavior and promote adherence to policies and professional standards.
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, providing effective, industry-leading solutions in training and compliance.
  • Hold teams accountable for driving results and ensuring compliance goals are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Health Management, Safety, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in DOT compliance, FTA drug and alcohol program administration, OSHA regulations, and regulatory audits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and video conferencing tools.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% within the assigned region for onsite visits and audits.
  • Starting salary range: $75,000 - $95,000.
