Position Overview: As a Referral Lab Management Specialist I, you will lead and coordinate activities related to Referral Laboratory testing. Your responsibilities will include evaluating and onboarding new Referral Laboratory vendors, managing Master Service Agreements (MSAs), coordinating technical study setups, and ensuring quality monitoring of referral labs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the evaluation and onboarding of new Referral Laboratory vendors and coordinate the execution and renewal of MSAs.
  • Assist in identifying appropriate laboratory and testing solutions as per protocol requirements.
  • Review referral lab quotations and organize them for inclusion in proposals and contracts.
  • Manage operational activities, including reviewing test code specifications and communicating risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate configuration of referral lab testing in databases and monitor pending results.
  • Hold regular operational calls with referral laboratories and coordinate technical calls with clients as needed.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the referral laboratory study setup tracker and master vendor list.
  • Triaging and mitigating queries from internal teams and external customers.
  • Perform additional administrative duties, such as scheduling meetings and documenting processes in SOP format.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in clinical laboratory concepts and terminology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Experience in managing vendor-related activities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GCP laboratory regulatory requirements (CAP, CLIA, NYS, etc.) is a plus.
