Position Overview

The Radiologic Technologist will perform both routine and specialized diagnostic radiologic procedures under general supervision. This role demands technical proficiency, adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities

1. Diagnostic Imaging

  • Perform general radiology, including fluoroscopy, across various locations and patient demographics.
  • Adjust technical factors to meet individual patient needs.

2. Radiology Knowledge and Compliance

  • Demonstrate expertise in radiology principles such as anatomy, physiology, radiation protection, and positioning.
  • Ensure adherence to standards set by the Joint Commission, State, Federal, and departmental regulatory bodies.

3. Documentation and Record Keeping

  • Accurately record patient care activities in electronic health record systems.

4. Environmental Safety and Supplies

  • Maintain a safe work environment by monitoring equipment and supplies.
  • Notify appropriate staff regarding inventory needs and document equipment issues according to policy.

5. Performance Improvement and Training

  • Participate in initiatives to enhance workflows, patient experiences, and quality outcomes.
  • Support student and colleague training through educational activities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Associate Degree or Certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program (USDE or CHEA).

Experience

  • No prior experience required.

Licensure and Certifications

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensed Radiographer in the State of Maryland.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
