Role Overview

The Project Manager II will manage interdisciplinary clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and overseeing project delivery from start to finish. This hybrid, sponsor-dedicated role involves overseeing early-phase clinical trials and requires a mix of clinical project management and Senior CRA responsibilities. The position allows for remote work with up to 50% travel to clinical sites.


Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Manage Projects: Oversee clinical studies, ensuring compliance with GCP, SOPs, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with Clients: Serve as the primary contact between Syneos Health and customers to ensure timely project execution, study launch, and closeout.
  • Project Team Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary teams, ensuring quality, timelines, and budget management.
  • Financial Oversight: Accountable for the financial performance and resource management of each project.
  • Coordination: Ensure coordination of all study conduct partners and proactively manage risks and issues.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain Quality: Ensure the completeness of the Trial Master File (TMF) and the quality of project deliverables.
  • Study Information Management: Maintain accurate study information on various databases and systems.
  • Inspection Readiness: Ensure readiness for inspections at all stages of the study.
  • Project Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, providing oversight of study management components.

Business Development

  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients to identify future business opportunities.
  • Participate in Bidding: Represent the project management team during bid defense meetings, where applicable.

Team Management

  • Lead Teams: Manage other project management and clinical monitoring team members as needed.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CRO Experience: Previous experience in clinical research organizations and therapeutic areas preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of GCP and ICH guidelines.
  • Project Management Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage projects independently.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Proficient in written and spoken communication, with the ability to present to clients and stakeholders.
  • Travel Availability: Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
