Job Description

We are seeking a Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics Lead to join our team as a contractor. Reporting to the Head of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics, you will be responsible for leading the development of computational approaches for high-priority projects, focusing on model-informed drug development strategies. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, building partnerships with academic and CRO partners, and leading technology initiatives to enhance our simulation platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics for late-stage and early-stage assets, particularly in infectious diseases such as Tuberculosis and Malaria.

  • Develop advanced models of drug exposure, biomarker response, and disease progression to facilitate informed drug development decisions.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, offering expertise in modeling, data science, visualization, and data analytics.

  • Serve as Study Director and Clinical PK Scientist for infectious diseases programs.

  • Contribute to regulatory documents and engage in regulatory interactions.

  • Assess clinical study feasibility and provide input on clinical protocol design.

  • Execute and manage Pharmacometrics and Modeling & Simulation (M&S) plans, reporting results to support clinical development milestones.

  • Integrate data from various compounds across development programs to inform strategic decisions.

  • Represent the department in cross-functional teams, promoting development opportunities.

  • Mentor junior Clinical Pharmacology scientists and promote a culture of scientific excellence.

  • Support project milestones in discovery and development using mathematical modeling and simulation tools, including PK/PK-PD and drug-drug interaction evaluations.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Model-Informed Drug Development (MIDD) to enhance decision-making.

  • Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to leverage diverse datasets for relevant disease biology models.

Qualifications

  • Education: PhD in engineering, math, computer science, pharmaceutical sciences, or a related quantitative field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a quantitative discipline, with a strong background in PK-PD, QSP, PBPK, and DMPK modeling.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in high-performance computing, software such as Matlab, R, NONMEM, Monolix, SimCYP, PK-SIM, GastroPlus, and Phoenix.

  • Communication: Excellent ability to convey complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.

  • Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong collaboration and customer service skills.
