Role Overview:

We are seeking a Programmer Analyst - SAS to join our innovative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In this role, you will use your programming expertise to advance research projects, ensuring data integration and validation across systems for clinical trials and bioinformatics studies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Programming Tasks: Perform tasks assigned by study project team leads, including developing, validating, and transferring data using SAS and standard tools.
  • Data Preparation & Analysis: Prepare and analyze clinical trial datasets such as laboratory data, tumor response data, imaging data, and adverse events data for clinical research purposes.
  • Collaboration: Work with researchers and multi-disciplinary project teams to design technology solutions and computational strategies for specific projects.
  • Customized Code Development: Develop customized codes to apply existing tools, ensuring flawless outputs for clinical bioinformatics or technical use.
  • Lead Programmer: Take the lead on studies of moderate complexity, manage tasks, and ensure proper implementation under supervision.
  • Mentorship & Development: Learn from mentors, contribute to presentations, and participate in departmental document and policy development to advance your programming, clinical trial, and pharmaceutical industry expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum MS/MA in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Open to candidates with a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience: Proven ability to lead programming activities and develop SDTM and ADaM derivations for clinical trials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Programming Skills: Strong understanding of one or more programming languages, especially SAS.
  • Attention to Detail: Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve problems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with teams and clients.
  • Time Management: Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a positive, collaborative attitude.
  • Database Knowledge: Solid understanding of relational database structures and complex data systems.
  • Quality Control: Ability to capture biostatistical metrics and provide quality control support for statistical programming.
