Job Description: Programmer Analyst - SAS

Role Summary

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Programmer Analyst - SAS and contribute to advancing bioinformatics and clinical research projects. Utilize your programming expertise to solve complex challenges, support clinical trials, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Programming and Data Handling:

    • Develop, execute, and validate SAS programs to transfer, merge, summarize, and report data from multiple systems and sources.
    • Prepare and analyze datasets, including laboratory results, vital signs, tumor response, imaging data, quality of life questionnaires, and adverse events data, tailored for clinical research.
  2. Consultation and Customization:

    • Collaborate with researchers and project teams to determine computational strategies and solutions.
    • Customize existing tools and applications through innovative programming to ensure flawless outputs.
  3. Leadership and Coordination:

    • Serve as the programming lead for simple to moderately complex projects.
    • Oversee and execute tasks within departmental guidelines and SOPs, contributing to informal training materials.
  4. Continuous Development:

    • Enhance programming, technology, and industry knowledge through mentorship, presentations, and policy contributions.
    • Participate actively in team collaborations to expand technical and analytical expertise.

Qualifications

  • Education:

    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related field.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Experience:

    • Proven track record in leading programming activities for project teams.
    • Strong ability to create specifications for SDTM and ADaM derivations.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (SAS preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for team and client collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding of relational database structures and complex data systems.
  • Competence in biostatistical metrics and quality control support for statistical programming.
